What Is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a procedure where very fine needles pierce the outermost layer of the skin, creating transient channels (pores )in the skin. This minute injury to the skin stimulates the repair mechanisms of the skin resulting in minimizing skin imperfections such as acne scars, surgical scars, fine lines and wrinkles, and stretch marks. In addition to improving skin texture, firmness and hydration, microscopic analysis has shown that microneedling increases collagen production up to 400%. It leads to reorganization of old collagen fibers and lays down new collagen, elastin, and capillaries.
Where On The Body Microneedling Can Be Performed?
Microneedling can be used on different parts of the body for everything including: from under-eye bags, skin rejuvenation, stretch marks on the stomach and scarring from head to toe.

Advantages Of Microneedling
Microneedling also increases product absorption when applied in conjunction with other skin treatments. With microneedling creating thousands of tiny pores, compounds containing hyaluronic acid or platelets rich plasma (PRP) now have entry into the dermis, further enhancing the effects of microneedling. The Dermatology Review reported that microneedling is proven to increase chemical absorption up to 1000 times.
Microneedling Recovery & Results
Downtime is minimal. The needle induced pores usually close in 18 hours after the procedure. The erytherma lasts 1-2 days. Best results are achieved with 3 treatments, spaced 1 month apart.

See What Our Patients Are Saying
"I’ve been to multiple dermatologists, none of which had been able to help me. Within 5 minutes of my visit with Dr. LoBuono he knew exactly what was going on and was able to develop a course of treatment. Truly he is experienced, honest, and personable. I would recommend him, especially out of other dermatologists in Monmouth County."
